Atlanta, March 27, 2009: Track Chic, the social phenomenon of Speed, Style and Sisterhood, along with the international racer Amanda Hennessy, representing the 1 in 8 Motorsports organization, have joined forces to fight breast cancer on the One Lap of America race. One Lap of America (www.onelapofamerica.com) starts May 2, 2009 and is the toughest 8 days of racing featuring the fastest street-legal cars on the most challenging racetracks stretching over 4,000 miles across the United States.

Amanda will compete in this year’s One Lap of America to defend her back to back 1st in class titles, also competing in twenty events at various racetracks along the way. Amanda remarked, “It’s an honor to work with 1in8Motorsports.org and support the foundation’s campaign to fund mammograms for those who can’t afford them. Their creative initiatives, such as Tie One On for Breast Cancer energize the message for early detection which saves 91% of lives.” Hennessy will also put anyone’s name on her two racing vehicles for a donation to 1 in 8, the more money the bigger their name, as long as you donate before April 24, 2009.

“Amanda is a woman of amazing talents, both on the track and in the world of philanthropy. She represents the best of the “Women behind the Wheels” in the industry today” adds Theresa Earnheart, Track Chic’s President. It’s important to reach Track Chic’s 239+ million enthusiastic female motorsports fans with this awareness campaign and it’s a privilege to have this opportunity to reach our community to share the 1 in 8 message. We’ll be participating in all aspects of the One Lap of America Competition; trackside, online, socially with Track Chic’s Girls Garage Parties and other fun events. Utilizing Track Chic’s Male Hosts, the Lug Nuts, will help showcase the message, incorporating a little fun and levity for women facing today’s very serious health issue.
