Spartan Chassis Answers the Call; Delivers New Level of Performance with 24K IFS

Air-Ride System Developed for Emergency-Rescue Industry

CHARLOTTE, Mich., April 23 -- Spartan Chassis, Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, Inc. , will showcase the newest level of performance in air-ride suspension systems at the Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC), which opens today in Indianapolis. The 24K Independent Front Suspension (IFS) was developed specifically for fire trucks and will be on display April 23-25 in Spartan's exhibit (Booth #2222).

Working with Reyco Granning Suspensions, Spartan Chassis developed the 24K Air-Ride System to combine improved vehicle control with high axle capacity. The system--currently the only 24K Air-Ride IFS in the emergency-rescue market--can be applied to the Spartan Gladiator(R) and Metro Star(R) cab/chassis units, which will also be on display in the Company's exhibit.

"Spartan's partnership with Reyco Granning has produced a solution that will surpass the needs and expectations of our customers in the emergency-rescue market," said John Sztykiel, president and CEO of Spartan Motors. "Our new Air-Ride System will provide departments with the ability to create vehicles that will significantly improve their incident response, as well as reduce operational costs from a maintenance perspective."

The Spartan Performance Air-Ride System also provides:
-- Enhanced ride and handling with reduced driver fatigue
-- Exceptional, proven stopping power and improved vehicle stability
-- Improved serviceability reducing labor costs and vehicle downtime
-- Dynamic load leveling for consistent vehicle ride quality

The newest 24K Air-Ride System rounds out Spartan's IFS offerings of 18K, 20K and 22K for heavy-duty emergency-rescue vehicles in both on-road and off-road applications. Spartan originally introduced Air-Ride IFS to the emergency-rescue market in 2005. The Company had previously been recognized for bringing the system to the motorhome industry in 1996.
