WASHINGTON May 4, 2009; The following is a statement from the National Automobile Dealers Association in response to the Consumer Reports survey on vehicle maintenance and repair satisfaction:

The good news is consumers have choices when it comes to auto repair and maintenance. Today's vehicles are becoming increasingly complex. The nation's auto dealers offer the highest-trained technicians in maintaining and repairing specific brands of cars and trucks. New car dealers invest heavily in training, service equipment and diagnostic tools.

NADA, based in McLean, Va., represents the nation's new car and truck dealers, both import and domestic.
