RÜSSELSHEIM, GERMANY – May 15, 2009: The Opel Insignia Sports Tourer won the AUTO BILD Design Award 2009, beating 11 competitors in the “Sedan and Station Wagon” category.

With this lobe, the Sports Tourer continues the winning tradition begun by the Opel Insignia sedan, which has accumulated 15 prizes throughout Europe, including Car of the Year 2009 and the red dot design award.

“The AUTO BILD Design Award shows that we have hit a note with the public on our innovative, sporty, yet elegant design on the Insignia Sports Tourer. We are particularly pleased that customers themselves have voted and declared the Insignia their favorite,” says Mark Adams, Vice President, Design for GM Europe.

AUTO BILD is a weekly magazine published throughout the continent by the Axel Springer Verlag. This is the fourth year AUTO BILD has conducted the survey of “best” cars; it is the first time the poll included some 100,000 readers in 27 European countries.
