HIGH RANGE, AUSTRALIA – May 26, 2009: The winners of the prestigious Delivery Magazine awards for the Best Light Commercial Vehicles of 2009 are the Nissan Navara D40 diesel ute, the Hyundai iLoad CRDi and the Volkswagen Multivan Highline.

The Delivery magazine awards recognise the development of light commercial vehicles that combine fuel efficiency and low cost of ownership with low emissions and which perform their function in business to the highest level of ability.

The winners were announced as part of the Motoring Matters Magazine Group Awards at a ceremony at Melbourne’s Park Hyatt Hotel attended by industry executives representing all leading brands of car, light commercial and heavy truck manufacturers and importers in Australia.

Three vehicles achieved recognition as the most outstanding vehicles in their respective categories:

Best Van of the Year – The Hyundai iLoad CRDi.
Crowned last year as Best Medium Van 2008, the iLoad diesel moves up to take on allcomers in 2009 with its semi-bonneted design, excellent drivability, versatile crew option and overall value for money. (Fuel economy 8.5 l/100kms)

Best Ute of the Year – The Nissan Navara D40 Diesel.
The latest Nissan Navara King Cab and Dual Cab provide excellent space utilisation in the cabin with innovative design that maximises load and seating options. The ride and handling are best in class for this type of vehicle and the 2.5 litre diesel is a great match with the five-speed automatic transmission. (Fuel economy 9.8 l/100kms)

Best People Mover of the Year – The Volkswagen Multivan Highline Diesel.

Managing editor and publisher of Delivery Magazine Mr. Chris Mullett said the release of new products, more fuel efficient engines and drivelines and higher safety offered a valuable upgrade light commercial vehicle users.

“The Volkswagen Multivan is just as much at home taking the kids to school as moving executives from the boardroom to the airport. As it gains greater recognition it could revolutionise the hire car market in Australia,” he added.
