General Motors releases first picture on Chevrolet Agile

BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 24, 2009 -- General Motors issued the first details on the Chevrolet Agile, a new sporty hatch, which will be launched on South American markets in October.

Agila will be produced at GM's Rosario complex in Argentina.

Chevrolet Agile - first member of the Viva family- was developed at GM's Brazilian Development Centre. It will be Sould in South America, including Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

According to Carlos Barba, General Director of GM Design Mercosur, Agile is: "a vehicle that goes beyond a traditional hatchback. Our task was to design a vehicle for our demanding customers in the region. An innovative design is essential, ... and a crossover is perfect for attracting different customers, from the urban dweller to the surfer or customer who likes the countryside".
