It Ain't Easy Making Green - Redux

Updated version of a 2003 article

Why the Green and Blue hyperlinks on certain words in our articles?

The Green and Blue linky-thingies you will see throughout The Auto Channel are what we have named pLINKs™…Paid Links to advertiser’s messages and/or to relevant content on advertisers web sites.

GREEN pLINKs: Because we are advertiser supported and you our audience pays nothing to see our expensive to produce and way cool editorial content, our management has agreed to allow a third party ad company to sell GREEN pLINKs on an advertiser’s choice of words(KEY WORDS) that appear in our articles and stories. Smart advertisers pay companies like Vibrant Media or Kontera, to place their pLINKs here and the advertisers pay every time you click on a pLINK™...so pLINK™ away you'all!

BLUE pLINKs: Two reasons for these; First of all we need to make more money (I hope you understand) Second our readers may want to quickly access additional information about the vehicle or its features or options, the article is focusing on. These BLUE pLINKS are deep linked to specific and relevant textural or multi-media content located deep within a manufacturer’s web site… it is usually additional in-depth information you might need to help you in make your new car consideration list, or you may want to help clear up any misunderstanding you may have about the manufacturer’s product. Oh by the way, TACH also get paid every time you click on BLUE pLINKs™...so pLINK™ away!

pLINK™ and pLINKed™ and pLINKs™ and any othere clever derivative, are words that we invented in 2003 to describe paid links on a web site…they are copyrighted, sales marked, and trademarked so if you like them and want to use them DON’T without paying us, or Uncle Vito the enforcer will have to pay a visit to your servers…we know where you live!
