Nissan releases concept sketch of light commercial electric vehicle

--Nissan has released a concept sketch of a light commercial electric vehicle based on the newly launched NV200. The low-cost multi-purpose vehicle would allow ambulance drivers to drive directly into the hospital or van and taxi drivers to enter urban areas where CO2 emissions are restricted.

Citibus powers up hybrids

GM to put electric Cadillac Converj Concept into production

FedEx's Smith committed to alternative fuels

--FedEx boasts more than 260 hybrid trucks in its 80,000-vehicle fleet, part of a companywide effort to promote eco-friendly initiatives. Its newest hybrids - retrofits on 2000 and 2001 model year delivery trucks - are 44 percent more fuel-efficient than standard FedEx delivery trucks. The vehicles produce 96 fewer particulates and 75 fewer smog-causing emissions.

GM Will Not Create Separate Volt Brand, Says Chevrolet Chief
