SYDNEY – December 10, 2009: Australia's most popular people-mover, the Kia VQ Carnival range, has been named as the 2009 People's Choice people mover in the Carsales Network 2009 People's Choice awards.

This is the third consecutive occasion the Kia Carnival range has been voted best people mover in the Carsales Network awards by Australian new car buyers.

Commenting on the Carnival's win, Carsales noted: "Seems life's a party for Kia and its popular Carnival people mover models. This is the third consecutive year Kia's beaten the likes of Honda Odyssey and Toyota Tarago for the PCA win for the well-priced, well-equipped van."

Mr. Terry Im, President & CEO of Kia Motors Australia, was thrilled to receive the award and reflected that the Carnival range has been Australia's top-selling people mover since 2004.

"Carnival has consistently topped the Australian sales charts for people movers for the past five years and 2009 is heading the same way," said Mr. Im. "When it comes to actually making a purchase, more than 30 percent of buyers in the under-$55K people-mover market during the past 12 months have chosen either the Kia VQ Carnival or Grand Carnival, demonstrating that the Kia Carnival range really is the people's choice as the best people mover of 2009."

Voting for the awards took place between 1 November 2008 and 31 October 2009 with each vote equalling one genuine enquiry on a new car via one of the Carsales Network websites - carsales.com.au, CarPoint.com.au, Redbook.com.au, discountnewcars.com.au and prestigenewcars.com.au.

According to Carsales.com Managing Director and CEO, Greg Roebuck, "The Carsales Network People's Choice Awards are a true measure of the popularity of makes and models with the people who really count - new car buyers. Our awards are a measure of what real world car buyers are shopping for. The categories are clear and the results equally so."
