Honda Delivers FCX Clarity Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle to 2010 Canadian Olympic Hockey Team Captain Scott Niedermayer

Four-time Stanley Cup champion and environmentalist becomes first professional athlete to lease Honda's zero emissions vehicle


January 5, 2010: Honda will advance its hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle program by delivering the Honda FCX Clarity to its next customer, 2010 Canadian Olympic Hockey Team Captain and Anaheim Ducks(TM) Team Captain, Scott Niedermayer, at a press conference Wed., January 6. Niedermayer, an avid outdoorsman and environmental proponent off of the ice, will become the first professional athlete to reduce his carbon footprint by participating in Honda's FCX Clarity lease program.

Significant advances with the FCX Clarity include futuristic sedan packaging and a driving range up to 240 miles*. The vehicle is propelled by electricity generated in the fuel cell, the vehicle's only emission is water vapor, and its fuel efficiency is three times that of a comparable gasoline-powered automobile.
