Second HEMI-powered Dodge to Join Team Mopar Australia

MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – January 28, 2010: The opposition will see red when Team Mopar Australia launches a second HEMI-powered Dodge down the quarter mile in 2010. The second Dodge in red livery will give Team Mopar Australia an advantage in their goal to remain at the top of the Pro Stock Championship leader board.

Now into its second season as major sponsor of Team Mopar Australia, Chrysler Australia is excited about what the future may hold for the team.

We’re excited about the possibility of having both cars racing side by side in a final.”

Team Mopar Australia is looking forward to adding both a new car and an additional driver to the team.

“By adding the red Dodge we’ll double the amount of data we receive from each race, said Con Sideris, Crew Chief and Engine Builder, Team Mopar Australia. With additional data we can play with setups and reduce development time by sharing information between both cars,” said Sideris.

Andrew Stavroulakis will join Team Mopar as the driver of the red coloured Dodge. Andrew’s excellent track record will be a valuable asset to Team Mopar Australia, as the team works toward their objective of taking out the Pro Stock Championship in 2010.

“I feel fortunate to join Team Mopar Australia at a time when they’re buzzing, with the blue Dodge doing so well, I’m hoping I can add to the teams list of achievements,” said Andrew Stavroulakis, Driver, Team Mopar Australia.

Lee Bektash, driver of the blue coloured Dodge is currently at the top of the Pro Stock Championship leaderboard and can’t wait to have Andrew on board.

“Andrew’s a top bloke and a great driver - these are two important ingredients when you drive for Team Mopar Australia,” said Lee Bektash, Driver, Team Mopar Australia.

Lee Bektash will blast his blue Dodge for this first time this year at the 2010 Summernationals on Friday February 12th.
