Tucson, AZ; 2009 brought words such as"Savecation," or inexpensive vacations close to home and "glamping"; or glamorous camping for those who want luxury in the backcountry. RV rentals increased last year as families looked for ways to spend time together without breaking the bank on hotel and airfare. This year, with the economy slowly rebounding, Beaudry RV Company predicts a return to environmentally friendly travel or Ecocations.

While travelers are cutting back on the amount of time they spend taking vacation, when they do travel, carbon footprints matter. RV Ecocations leave a smaller carbon footprint than traditional travel. Twenty percent of RV owners currently have solar panels installed in their RVs. By being able to cook on the road, RVers have better access to organic and natural foods. RVers also tend to be active travelers, with National Park visits up 33 percent last year.

Despite the longevity of the RV travel tradition, RVing is a sophisticated means of traveling with high tech equipment, room for the entire family, and ways to be as green as you like," says Thom Sylvester of Beaudry RV Company. "We encourage every person to take at least one RV vacation in their lifetime."
