--Researchers have come up with the ultimate vehicle – an environmentally friendly electric car that plugs into the wall to sell power back to the electricity company. The delights of a car that lets you get one up on the power suppliers comes via research funded by the US National Science Foundation.

Electric cars arrive at Fort Knox

--A team of researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee has developed a prototype system they say could let drivers cut the time needed to fully recharge from a home electrical outlet by a factor of 10—from about eight hours to about 45 minutes.

Electric, Plug-In, and Fuel Cell Vehicles Driving on the Show Floor at the 2010 New York International Auto Show EV Pavilion

The New York International Auto Show and Green Car Journal are presenting an exciting electric car experience right on the show floor during the 2010 NYIAS at Javits Center. It will be heavily promoted in e-mail blasts to media, in press releases, on the auto show website, and in signage at the show.

·Automakers participating in the EV Pavilion will enjoy a high-profile opportunity to get media behind the wheel of their latest electric drive vehicles – battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid vehicles (operating exclusively on their electric drive systems) – during the show's media days on March 31 and April 1.
