TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – March 25, 2010: The creative partnership between Honda Australia and acclaimed director Kris Moyes of Revolver Films, has led to the European debut of the cutting edge ‘Imagination’ Honda Jazz television commercial.

Building on the positive reception it has received in Australia, the commercial, produced in collaboration with advertising agency 303, is now being used to promote sales of the Honda Jazz throughout the Netherlands, resulting in a surge of customer enquiries.

Best known as an award-winning director of music videos and short-film collaboration with fashion duo Romance Was Born, Moyes was the perfect choice to bring the Honda Jazz to life – ‘a car designed with such innovative flexibility that you can fit anything inside it’.

To demonstrate its space and versatility, animation was used to drive more than one million multi-coloured Mega Bloks (plastic coloured blocks) into and out of the car in a series of images, including a giant dog chasing a ball, a sneaker-wearing octopus, a surfboard riding a wave and a submarine.

The techincal team measured the interior of the Jazz, calculating that it was equivalent to 1,469,333 Mega Bloks. Each object was then constructed using this number of blocks, with the end commercial pieced together from 366 still photographs taken over 12 hours.

Samples of Mega Bloks used in the creation of the television commercial will be distributed by The Honda Foundation to select charities around Australia: Cora Barclay, South Australia; St Giles, Tasmania; and St Lucy’s, NSW.
