SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – March 25, 2010: By specifying new Citroën C4 1.6HDi 90hp VTR hatchbacks, Egton Medical Information Systems Ltd (EMIS) has taken another step to drive down emissions and to improve the fuel efficiency of its car fleet. The company is currently taking delivery of 30 of these highly efficient and well equipped cars, which combine CO2 emissions of just 115g/km with Band C £0 VED (from 1st April), and exceptional 64.2mpg combined cycle fuel economy.

EMIS, one of Citroën’s longest-standing fleet customers, will buy 75 Citroën cars in 2010, the majority being C4 1.6HDi 90hp VTR hatchbacks - with the balance made up of C5 1.6HDi 110hp VTR saloons. All the vehicles are purchased outright and will be supplied by Citroën dealer David Fox of Harrogate.

Rachel McLaughlan, EMIS Fleet Manager, said, “EMIS is committed to a continuous process of reducing its vehicle CO2 emissions and improving fleet fuel efficiency. The latest C4 hatchbacks and C5 saloons we are now ordering meet our increasingly stringent environmental and financial targets with even lower CO2 emissions and better fuel economy.”

EMIS, which has been buying Citroëns for 18 years, has a virtually all Citroën, all HDi powered, 300+ strong fleet. The company operates its Citroëns over a four year, 100,000 mile service life.

EMIS, an expanding Yorkshire-based company, is a leading primary care software provider with around 34 million patient records entrusted to its systems. Around 59% of GP practices in England and 52% of practices across the UK as a whole use EMIS software.
