Porsche Reports U.S. Sales for March - Up 9% Y2Y

NEW YORK - April 1, 2010: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera Gran Turismo in the United States, today announced March sales in the U.S. of 1,905 units compared to the same period last year when it sold 1,749, up 9 percent. This marks the seventh time in the last eight months that PCNA has recorded an increase in year-over-year sales.

Several individual models in Porsche's portfolio enjoyed strong showings, including the new Panamera which recorded sales of 542 for the month -- its best ever. 911 sales were also encouraging with sales of 615, an increase of 7 percent over the same period in 2009.

Also notable for March were sales of the German automaker's mid-engine sports cars, the Boxster and Cayman. With sales of 211, the Boxster enjoyed an increase of 57 percent for March, while the Cayman recorded sales of 140, which was up 23 percent from the previous year.

Porsche's sales of its popular Cayenne SUV were down 57 percent as this model is in a sell down situation in preparation for the all-new 2011 Cayenne that hits the marketplace this summer. Yesterday, at a press conference at the New York Auto Show, the German car maker revealed the next-generation Cayenne for the first time in North America. Led by the all-new Cayenne S Hybrid, Porsche's first production hybrid, the entire next-generation Cayenne model line up promises to set a new standard in its class in both efficiency and performance.

Year-to-date, for the first three months of 2010, Porsche sales are 5,222 compared to the same period last year when sales were 4,925, a jump of 6 percent.

For the month, Porsche's Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 704, compared to 528 for the same month last year.
