OVERLAND PARK, KS - June 21, 2010: Few would think of taking a 5.4L V-8 Ford F-250 on a cross-country tour as a way to promote green living. But that's exactly what the employees of Ferrellgas Partners, L.P., one of the nation's largest propane distributors, set out to do a year ago when they were among the first to add the ROUSH liquid propane injected Ford F-250 pickup truck to their alternative fuel fleet.

Ferrellgas launched its cross-country Propane Road Show June 2009 in an effort to educate fleet managers and consumers about the benefits associated with driving propane-powered vehicles, including:

• 24% less greenhouse gas emissions

• 12% less carbon dioxide, about 20 percent less nitrous oxide and as much as 60 percent less carbon monoxide than gasoline vehicles

• Two to three years longer service life and extended intervals between required maintenance

• One of the longest driving ranges of any alternative fuel vehicle

During the first year of the Road Show, the propane-powered F-250 traveled more than 47K miles and visited 30 states, including Michigan, Kansas, California, Colorado, Texas, Florida and New York, to name a few. After 47K miles traveled, the ROUSH F-250 has produced approximately 5,954 lbs less CO2 than its gasoline equivalent. Additionally, Ferrellgas estimates that their fuel cost to date has been approximately $2,469.00 less using propane than regular gasoline.

"Propane is the number one alternative fuel for the automotive sector, powering more than 8 million vehicles throughout the world," said Ferrellgas President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Wambold, who participated in several legs of the journey. "As the operator of one of the largest alternative fuel fleets in America, our goal is to promote the use of propane as a certified green fuel, as an excellent way for vehicle and machine fleets to curb emissions, and as a great way for fleet owners to lower expenses."

The 2010 Liquid Propane Injected F-250 was manufactured in Livonia, Mich., by ROUSH Performance. In addition to being environmentally friendly, the truck has the same horsepower (300 HP) and torque (365 lb.-ft.) as a comparable gasoline-powered truck. The F-250 in-bed tank provides about 55-gallons of propane, which will result in a range in excess of 500 miles.

"Using propane as an engine fuel makes complete sense simply by looking at the ROI (Return on Investment)," said Jack Roush, motorsports legend and CEO of ROUSH Enterprises. "Fleets can save tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the van or truck and that alone is worth switching to propane. But, if you factor in the cleaner emissions and reduction in foreign oil dependency then it really becomes only a matter of how quickly a company can bring these ROUSH propane vehicles into their fleet."

ROUSH and the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) have made a multi-million dollar investment in a multi-vehicle, multi-year strategy to sustain a propane-powered line of ROUSH-branded product offerings. In January 2010 ROUSH unveiled the next propane-powered vehicle family in its lineup - the ROUSH liquid propane-injected Ford E-150 / E-250 / E-350 passenger and cargo van equipped with the 5.4L V8. E-Series vans achieve Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II emission standards, which, on average, results in 90 percent cleaner emissions than the average new model year car or truck.

Ferrellgas recently took ownership of one of the first ROUSH liquid propane injected Ford E-350 passenger vans and plans to add it to their Road Show during a West Coast swing, where it will be shown to companies with passenger van fleets.

"We are excited about taking the new E-350 vans on the road," said Wambold. "We believe that the best way to show what propane can offer vehicle fleets is by setting an example, and the Propane Road Show is a fun and efficient way to do just that."

Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. is a Fortune 1000 company and, through its operating partnership, Ferrellgas, L.P., serves approximately one million customers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Ferrellgas employees indirectly own more than 20 million common units of the partnership through an employee stock ownership plan.
