MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Oct. 13, 2010; GuidePoint Systems today announced it has been selected to supply its GPS-based vehicle tracking and recovery solution to Nissan® dealerships nationwide.

The Madison Heights, Mich.-based telematics supplier said it will supply the all-new Nissan VTRS (vehicle tracking and recovery system) as a dealer-installed option for buyers of Nissan vehicles. The new system integrates advanced GPS and wireless technology with Guidepoint's proprietary software, Web and call-center solutions to deliver a range of location-based services including stolen vehicle recovery, roadside help, fleet management and asset protection.  The new Nissan VTRS units utilize wireless connectivity by T-Mobile USA to ensure maximum nationwide coverage for vehicle tracking and recovery services.

Each Nissan VTRS comes with a basic plan powered by Guidepoint's award-winning stolen vehicle recovery service at no extra cost. Additional safety and convenience services; including emergency dispatch, driving directions, excessive speed alerts and personal concierge services; will be available to Nissan vehicle owners through Guidepoint's 24/7/365 response centers in North America and Central America.

"Location-based services using the pinpoint accuracy of GPS are gaining in popularity, and we're excited to be working with Nissan to offer this very unique safety, security and convenience accessory," said Rand Mueller, founder and chief executive officer of Guidepoint.  "We've developed a comprehensive system that's easy to sell, easy to install and easy to use. We're confident that Nissan dealerships will recognize the significant value they can provide their customers with this accessory product."

Guidepoint has been supplying GPS-based telematics devices to North American auto dealerships since 2002. The company's stolen vehicle tracking solution has earned a variety of honors, including a rating as the #1 stolen vehicle-tracking solution by international research firm Frost & Sullivan.
