DETROIT - October 14, 2010: In anticipation of the official launch this November, Chevrolet is offering drivers a sneak-peek at what the Volt is all about. Volt Unplugged, a 12 city coast-to-coast tour, gives consumers a chance to kick the tires, grip the steering wheel and take the extended-range electric vehicle for a spin. During the tour, a convoy of Volts will make their way from Seattle to Chicago, participating in multiple activities along the way. At each stop, everyday people will have the opportunity to test-drive the car and meet the engineers and designers.

The tour will demonstrate all aspects of the car, from the charging experience to long trips in a variety of climates and terrains. A battery pack provides between 25 and 50 miles of pure electric range and a gasoline-powered engine extends that range to as much as 310 miles. Stops on the tour will also include San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Antonio, Houston, Miami, Washington D.C., Orlando, Raleigh and New York City.
