AUTO CENTRAL - October 16, 2010: Hyundai, which only a few months ago introduced their new Sonata mid-size luxury sedan, to great acclaim and significant sales, has just added a new Sonata turbo model and will be adding a Sonata hybrid in the near future.

Both will be heavily supported with advertising - television and print - from the company's captive advertising agency, Innocean Worldwide Americas, which replaced Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, when Joel Ewanick was CMO of the Korean brand.

With some of the boldest and aggressive advertising with big presence in big time media (Super Bowl & Academy Awards) including the trend setting Hyundai Assurance Program, Innocean created and produced a campaign that won Marketer of the Year Awards for Ewanick and Hyundai, and the agency also won numerous creative awards. All in the first year - and that's a helluva an accomplishment for any agency, especially a new shop with a new client.

To introduce the Sonata turbo a new commercial was created and was presented to auto journalists last week at the new product launch in La Jolla, CA. The new commercial will not air until Monday, October 18, 2010; in prime time. It follows the stylistic creative format of recent commercials featuring Jeff Bridges' light hearted conversational-tone voiceover. Here's the exclusive sneak peak of the new commercial called "Turbo Face." I believe it will trigger a big time viral response in the social medias.
