VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – October 18, 2010: With a move into state-of-the-art new premises earlier this year, Australia’s leading automotive lighting and battery accessories brands of Brown & Watson Pty Ltd, Narva and Projecta, have entered a new phase of exciting development and expansion.

Moving just 500 metres up the road to their new location in Knoxfield, the company has consolidated three extensive buildings under one massive roof with a building of almost 20,000 square metres that can be regarded as one of the most modern manufacturing, assembly, packaging and high tech warehouse operations in Australia.

The new fully electronic and automated paperless warehouse covers almost 14,000 square metres with high racking of more than 9 metres providing an initial capacity for approximately 14,000 SKU’s which can be more than doubled as the company expands in the future.

As well as an expansive modern administration area, the new building also houses one of Australia’s most advanced optometric automotive lighting laboratories; the company’s research and development centre; an electronics laboratory; advanced wiring loom manufacturing; modern packaging operations plus idyllic facilities for staff. The new premises also house a fully equipped National Training Centre for company personnel, wholesale customers, retailers and major Narva and Projecta users.

Throughout the planning, construction and installation stages of the building project this proud Australian company has placed a strong emphasis on supporting local suppliers. Australian logistics systems have also been successfully developed and introduced to interface with the company’s computer system.

“The new facilities reflect our commitment to market leadership with the highest quality products and service levels heading into the future,” said Steve Waterham, Brown & Watson Pty Ltd Managing Director. “At the same time we have endeavoured to provide a stimulating working environment our staff can be proud of,” he said.
