Hyundai Hands Over Official Vehicles For G20

SYDNEY – November 2, 2010: Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea’s largest automaker, has handed over the official vehicles for the G20 Seoul Summit. The ceremony took place at the Coex Centre in Seoul, where the summit will take place. Hyundai Motor Company is providing a total of 129 vehicles during the summit, including the flagship luxury Equus limousine which will carry G20 leaders.

“We are proud to provide the official vehicles for such a high-profile global event,” Hyundai Motor Vice Chairman Euisun Chung said during the handover ceremony. “This will be a great opportunity for world leaders to experience the high quality and great performance of our cars. We believe it will help to enhance Hyundai’s global brand value, as well as further strengthen the Korean auto industry’s global competitiveness.”

“Hyundai Motor’s vehicles will contribute greatly to the success of the summit. The fact the world’s leaders will be driven in Korean vehicles is something to be very proud of,” said Si-Hyung Lee, Ambassador at the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit.

Hyundai Motor Company’s Chairman & CEO Mong-Koo Chung personally inspected the fleet of vehicles prior to handover for the summit. As part of the Hyundai commitment to service, the company will manage a maintenance support team of expert technicians in a 24/7 operation at all major summit venues.

Hyundai Motor is taking advantage of the sponsorship to showcase its “Blue” technology to the world. In addition to its first high-speed electric car BlueOn, Hyundai will provide electric buses and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) buses as transport for the summit staff during the period.
