COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 3, 2010 -- After increasing engine power and legroom of the Subaru Legacy for 2010, Subaru has enhanced the 2011 model with new exterior features, improved safety and technology features, as well as a new Convenience Package option for the 2.5i, earning the versatile sedan NADAguides' November Car of the Month.

"When you think of Subaru, you think of all-wheel drive and versatility," says NADAguides president Don Christy, Jr. "What impressed the analysts and automotive aficionados here at NADAguides, however, is the 2011 Legacy's complete package of ride quality, handling, safety and creature comforts."

"The Subaru Legacy has broken all sales records since its launch due to its unique combination of class-leading safety, a fun to drive Boxer engine and the security of AWD as well as fuel economy of 31mpg," said Tom Doll, Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America.

The 2011 Subaru Legacy comes standard with the 170 horsepower 2.5-liter aluminum-alloy 16-valve Subaru BoxerŽ engine with i-Active Valve Lift System (31 hwy/23 city mpg). The 2.5GT is powered with a 265 horsepower 2.5-liter intercooled, supercharged aluminum-alloy 16-valve 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with Active Valve Control System and 6-speed manual transmission (25 hwy/18 city mpg).  The Legacy 3.6R has a 256 horsepower 3.6-liter aluminum-alloy 24-valve 6-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with Dual Active Valve Control System with a 5-speed adaptive electronic automatic transmission (25 hwy/18 city mpg).

Standard safety features include Brake Assist, tire pressure monitoring and traction control. The 2011 Legacy also features Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), which uses sensors to monitor tire speeds, steering angles, brake pressure and lateral g-forces. If the VDC detects any difference from the usual patterns of the driver, it will increase or reduce whatever is needed to correct the vehicle.  Subaru Legacy's Advanced Ring-Shaped Frame Reinforcement also provides a safety foundation for crash protection and the safety of the passengers.

Depending on the trim, the Legacy has a 6-way manually adjustable driver's seat or a 10-way power driver's seat as well as heated front seat options for some trim levels.  Standard features include eight cup holders, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, center console with 12-volt power outlets, auxiliary audio jack, overhead console with map lights and sunglasses holder, tilt steering wheel, electronic cruise control, keyless entry, and antitheft security system.

A Limited and Sport option package is available for higher-end trims which include enhanced features such as:  XM satellite radio, voice-activated Navigation package, 6-disc in-dash CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, 440-watt 9-speaker Harman/Kardon premium audio system, power sunroof, and dual-zone digital climate control system.

The 2011 Subaru Legacy comes standard with 24-hour roadside assistance and a 3yr/36,000-mile warranty and a powertrain warranty for up to five years or 60,000 miles.  The base model starts at $19,995, the 3.6R Limited starts at $28,295 and the 2.5GT Limited starts at $31,395.
