CLOVELLY PARK, AUSTRALIA – November 19, 2010: Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) has stepped up the safety equipment on its legendary Pajero four-wheel drive wagon, adding side and curtain airbags to every vehicle in the entire Pajero line-up.

Further upgrades across the popular SUV range include a reversing sensor and cargo blind on the GLS, while the VRX is now overloaded with standard features including Rockford Acoustic Design 12 speaker premium audio package, high intensity discharge headlamps with auto levelling, headlamp washers, rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing headlamps and a cargo blind.

The side and curtain airbags join a raft of safety features already standard across the range such as Active Stability Control (ASC), Active Traction Control (ATC), Engine Brake Assist Control (EBAC), Super Select 4WD II, Multi-mode Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and Mitsubishi Body Optimised Suspension (MBOS). All variants are equipped with Mitsubishi’s MATT (Mitsubishi’s All Terrain Technology), ensuring every Pajero offers the latest in superior four-wheel drive technology.

Powered by either a 3.2-litre Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel delivering 147kW of power and 441Nm of torque, or a 3.8-litre V6 MIVEC engine offering 184kW of power and 329Nm of torque, the Pajero range includes a variant to suit all needs.

MMAL Vice President of brand and marketing, Paul Unerkov, announced the release of the 2011 Pajero model line up.

"The Pajero is recognised for its superior performance, both on and off the road, and the range just keeps on getting better and better.

“After a strong year-to-date sales result we expect this upgraded model line up to be even more sought after,” Unerkov said.

2010 was a busy year for the model, winning multiple awards from respected publications, such as ‘Best Medium Diesel Wagon’ and ‘Best Value for Money’ in Overlander magazine’s ‘Best of the Best’, topping its class in Wheel’s ‘Gold Star Cars’, and scoring first place as ‘Best Touring Vehicle’ in Caravan’s ‘On Tour’ awards.

All Mitsubishi vehicles are protected by the company’s leading and comprehensive five year/130,000 whole vehicle warranty, backed up by its 10-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty and a five year/130,000 km roadside assistance package.
