SYDNEY – January 19, 2011: Ford Australia is getting behind the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal in Queensland.

It has donated a Mondeo Titanium TDCi wagon valued at up to $50,000 to be auctioned by Cricket Australia, with all the proceeds directed to the Appeal.

For details about the auction and a chance to bid, go to http://www.officialmemorabilia.com.au/ and follow the Flood Relief Auction link.

The Flood Relief Auction ends at 12pm (AEST) on January 30.

Apart from the Mondeo, Ford Australia has also donated a second vehicle to relief agencies.

"We are working with relief agencies to ascertain the most appropriate use of the second donation vehicle," Ford Australia president and CEO, Bob Graziano said.

A further corporate contribution package of $US50,000 has been committed to the Appeal by the Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services.

Ford metropolitan and rural dealers in Queensland have also committed $50,000 to the Appeal.

The company is also undertaking to provide additional direct and indirect aid for flood victims, with more than 20 vehicles on loan to relief organisations to help support the clean-up operations.

In addition to the corporate support package, Ford employees across the country will also be able to make donations to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal via the company's payroll system.

"Within our Ford family our regional employees and Queensland dealers have been directly affected and we are currently taking steps to review what other support we can provide not only to them but to the greater Queensland community as a whole," Graziano said.
