DEARBORN, MI--March 30, 2011:

Rising prices at the pump fuel demand for natural gas

Higher fuel prices, increasing government incentives and more CNG fueling stations are spurring interest in compressed natural gas-powered commercial vehicles offered by Ford. Cab company owners such as Bill Scalzi of Metro Taxi in Connecticut have responded by ordering Ford's CNG vehicles. Scalzi expects to have 20 CNG-fueled Transit Connect Taxis delivered in the near future. In addition to Transit Connect Taxi, CNG is a fuel option for Ford E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.

Ford takes on potholes

Ford knows that not all roads are created equal, and that all drivers don't tackle roads the same way. So as it expands its global portfolio, the company is using its test tracks to specifically re-create the driving conditions of those areas around the world in which Ford vehicles are sold. Battered roads in the United States? Got it covered. Fast drivers in Europe? No problem. Ford's Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium and Michigan Proving Ground in the U.S. feature miles of test track that simulate real-world driving conditions, helping to ensure that Ford vehicles are ready for whatever today's drivers dish out.

Here's a pickup line that really works

Buyers looking for that unbeatable combination of fuel economy, capability, power and value in pickups can find it all in Ford's comprehensive truck range: Ranger, F-150 and Super Duty. The EPA cites two Ford pickups, Ranger and F-150 with the 3.7-liter V6, as the most fuel efficient in their segments. That gives Ford a clean sweep of best pickup truck fuel economy numbers from smallest to largest. The 2011 F-150 with the all-new 3.7-liter V6 engine is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid full-size pickup with a combined city and highway rating of 19 mpg. Ranger leads the compact segment with 24 mpg. The 2011 Super Duty, though not rated by the EPA, is the class leader in fuel economy, based on independent testing against General Motors and Ram.
