BEAULIEU, UNITED KINGDOM – April 29, 2011: This year’s popular Spring AutoJumble takes place on the 14th & 15th May in the grounds of the world-famous Beaulieu attraction. Events Manager Judith Maddox said: “UK and overseas exhibitor stand numbers are already up on last year and indications are good that it is set to be another bumper show. In addition, the number of car clubs attending has also increased, with forty already signed up for 2011.”

The 1,000 Autojumble spaces will be selling everything motor-related, including parts, automobilia, literature and accessories while the MotorMart, on the Beaulieu Arena, will have up to 200 vehicles for sale, ranging from concours classics to restorable relics and the DealerMart, a selection of classic cars for sale.

This year, show sponsor Classics Monthly Magazine, will be launching Project MGB. Visit the Classics editorial team on their stand where you can watch them begin work to re-build an MGB. Follow the project in the magazine over the next six months, after which one lucky reader will have the chance to own it. Whilst there, purchase a copy of the magazine’s latest issue, which also includes the show guide.

Next to the Classics stand will be a display of readers’ classic cars, and alongside them an array of vehicles owned by Friends of the National Motor Museum Trust. Also on this field are a number of Land Rovers owned by members of the Camel Trophy Land Rover Club. The Camel Trophy event, for 4x4 vehicles, ran from 1980 to the late 1990s and was both an adventurous expedition and a competition, with participants testing their driving and mechanical skills on the Transamazonica Highway from Belem to Santarem in Brazil.

Sunday highlights include Old Sodbury’s Land Rover Sortout with hundreds of stands selling Land Rover parts and accessories. Also on Sunday, the popular Trunk Traders will feature ‘boot bounty’ from amateur autojumblers selling their surplus car bits from the back of their vehicles.

Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy all the Beaulieu attractions, including the National Motor Museum’s latest exhibition ‘Feats of Endurance’ showcasing a number of vehicles that have stretched the boundaries of motoring endurance, both in extreme conditions and on challenging terrain. Among the exhibits is a Camel Trophy winning Land Rover 110. ‘Must sees’ also include World of Top Gear and the James Bond Exhibition.

Another new exhibition, newly opened in Palace House, is the Flying Lady, which celebrates the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot. The exhibition tells the story and the connections between early motoring pioneer John Montagu, British artist and sculptor Charles Sykes, and John’s secretary and mistress, Eleanor Thornton.

There is a special on-the-day, inclusive price of £9.20 for adults and £7 for children, even less if booked in advance on the ticket hotline: 01590 612888, or online at www.beaulieuevents.co.uk

There is still time to book Autojumble stand spaces with prices starting at £61, £40 for MotorMart spaces and £37 for Trunk Trader (Sunday only). Just contact the Events Department on 01590 614614 or email: events@beaulieu.co.uk
