Sofcoast Names Scott Swanson Executive Vice President

SAN DIEGO--July 28, 2011: Sofcoast, Inc., designer and manufacturer of the ASAP XP MAKO hybrid air vehicle is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Swanson has joined the Sofcoast team, as Executive Vice President, effective June 20, 2011. Within this role, Mr. Swanson will be leading Federal Sales.

Mr. Swanson proudly served as an officer in United States Air Force (USAF) for 20 years in various roles that included special operations and combat rescue, mission planning, mission management, program/project management, Department of Defense acquisition and flight test & evaluation.

Swanson is a USAF Command pilot with over 3000 hours in both helicopters and UAVs, within the Rescue, Special Operations and special reconnaissance mission communities.

Mr. Swanson was appointed Deputy Commander of Detachment 4 of the BIG SAFARI program office (Predator/Reaper UAS) where he led a team of 32 engineers, logisticians, technical writers, communications technicians, sensor operators and maintenance troops providing cradle-to-grave program management. He also commanded combat missions including weapons deployment in multiple theaters of operation using systems still undergoing test and development in support of the president's number one national target set.

Mr. Swanson has most recently been using his skills and experience assisting small companies develop their business including local, state and federal contracting, commercial opportunities and program/project management strategies and execution.

Mr. Swanson has a Bachelors of Applied Science-Aviation Management from the University of Minnesota and is a certified Program Management Professional (DAWIA Level II) and Project Management Professional.
