TACOMA, July 28, 2011: Things go better with Coke, especially at LeMay – America’s Car Museum (ACM), which today signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with Coca-Cola® to be the “Preferred Soft Drink” throughout the nine-acre campus that’s set to open in May 2012.

“Coca-Cola is a 125-year-old authentic American icon and the world’s favorite soft drink by far, with 1.7 billion servings a day in 200 countries,” said Dominic Dobson, ACM’s chief development officer. “Incidentally, both Coke and the automobile were born in the same year – 1886 – so there’s a definite tie-in with the museum, classic cars and family fun.”

The centerpiece of the Tacoma, Wash. facility, located 25 minutes south of Seattle and in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, is the 165,000-sq.-ft., four-level museum that’s dedicated to showcasing America’s love affair with the automobile. Coke products will be offered throughout the site, which includes 15 galleries, a 3.5-acre show field, theatre, café, banquet hall and meeting facilities.

“Museum goers will see incredible cars at ACM, and then be able to enjoy a refreshing Coke and other Coca-Cola products,” said Cheyenne Whitezel, Coca-Cola market development manager. “No doubt about it, ACM and Coke will make a classic combination.”
