Mercedes-Benz Previews Its Brightest Stars at Motorexpo New York City

MONTVALE, NJ--Sept. 14, 2011: Mercedes-Benz debuts the brand's brightest stars, five all-new 2012 models, at Motorexpo at the World Financial Center in New York City from Sunday, September 18 to Friday, September 23, 2011.  The event is the biggest free motoring event with over a million visitors each year, and features the latest products and information from the world's leading automotive manufactures.  

This year, Mercedes-Benz celebrates the invention of the automobile and the 125 year anniversary of Carl Benz patent submission and development of the Benz Patent Motorwagen.  With the backdrop of the World Financial Center, Mercedes-Benz honors its anniversary and debuts a line-up of its latest innovations including five all-new 2012 models.  

Leading the display, is the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster, a super car convertible and sibling to the SLS AMG Coupe known for its iconic Gullwing doors.  The 563 horsepower droptop developed from the ground up by Mercedes-AMG, the company's high-performance division, is available in showrooms late fall and has already grabbed the attention of many high profile car aficionados.

In addition to the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster, four other all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz vehicles are on display at Motorexpo including:

  • SLK350 an all new roadster design that takes top down driving to new heights. It features a MAGIC Sky Control Roof that allows the adjustment of its transparent roof from light to dark at the touch of a button, available in June at $55,675 MSRP.
  • C-Class Coupe an entirely new concept, the two-door coupe features unique compact proportions, a low silhouette and athletic lines, and is packed with innovation including a comprehensive level of driver support and protection including a number of driver assistance systems, ranging from ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection to optional LANE KEEPING Assist.  
  • A new C-Class Sedan features new direct-injection 4- and 6-cylinder engines, more fuel-efficient 7-speed automatic transmission, and a completely redesigned interior.
  • M-Class SUV, well-appointed, truly capable and exceptionally safe the new model features sharp creases and an aggressive, upright grille.  Inside is a spacious and wholly redesigned cabin, featuring exquisite materials and a host of standard features. The M-Class re-sets the standard against which every luxury SUV will be measured-both inside and out. Available this month at $49,865 MSRP.

The Mercedes-Benz display will also include the CLS550 4MATIC, E350 Cabriolet, GL450 and an S550 4MATIC.
