Sept. 27, 2011: EVTV, producers of the weekly "Friday Show," announce Ron Adamowicz victor of the "Winner Takes All" EV Cup Drag Race at the Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention (EVCCON) that was held in Cape Girardeau, MO--September 21: 25, 2011.

Ron, driving his full-bodied 1981 Camaro, aptly named "Warp Factor II," took the $2500.00 prize for the fastest electric vehicle at the event. The car blazed down the track turning an 11.5 second quarter-mile time. The car has recently turned a 10.08 second quarter mile at 127 MPH on a local drag strip but Ron said "he was being nice to the track" and pedaled it down a bit at the facility specifically built at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport for the event.

"This was the largest electric vehicle drag race in 2011 and with 25 electric vehicles participating and was possibly the largest ever," Adamowicz said. "It was exhilarating to see so many people, some for the first time, enjoying drag racing."

Brian Noto, co-producer of the EVCCON said, "Having Ron here was a real coup. His car attracts a lot of attention and is really a crowd pleaser." Noto added, "We're anticipating a big increase in attendees next year and that will significantly increase competitors in the races."

Dates for next year's EVCCON have been set for September 26-30, 2012 and will again feature a 1/4-mile drag racing event sanctioned by the East Coast Electric Drag Racing Association.
