POMPANO BEACH, FL--March 7, 2012: Cyclone Power Technologies (OTCQB: CYPW), developer of the all-fuel, clean-tech Cyclone Engine, announced today that it has received its first foreign patent in South Africa for its scalable waste energy recycling engine known as the WHE. Cyclone filed to protect the WHE internationally last year in countries where it has received strong interest in commercializing its green engine technology.

“Our capital investment in seeking patents for our technology internationally demonstrates our continued focus on seeking key markets for our engines, and protecting the company's assets for the long-term benefit of our shareholders”

Designed to run on waste heat from the exhaust of industrial furnaces, diesel engines and gas turbines, Cyclone's WHE is also being adapted for other recovered energy applications. Such commercial uses include distributed power generators that run on waste fuels such as biomass and used motor oil. Cyclone is currently in pre-production durability testing of a power generator system fueled by waste motor oil for its customer Phoenix Power Group, which holds an international license from Cyclone for these unique products.

Christopher Nelson, President of Cyclone and Managing Director of the company's WHE division, commented: "The demand globally for the WHE is enormous, and as we push towards commercial production of this engine in 2012, we're happy to secure our important intellectual property in countries where we see the biggest opportunities. South Africa, with its vast mining resources and industry, is a market where we have identified strong growth possibilities."

"Our capital investment in seeking patents for our technology internationally demonstrates our continued focus on seeking key markets for our engines, and protecting the company's assets for the long-term benefit of our shareholders," added Mr. Nelson.

About Cyclone Power Technologies

Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine -- an all-fuel, clean-tech engine with the power and versatility to run everything from waste energy electric generators and solar thermal systems to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a eco-friendly external combustion engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel - including bio-diesels, syngas or solar - while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. The Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers' AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit Cyclone Power.
