8th Annual Canterbury Corvette Fest Will Be Held On June 16, 2012

March 13, 2012: 8th Annual Canterbury Corvette Fest--The 8th Annual Canterbury Corvette Fest, sponsored by GMC Corvette Set, will be held at Olde World Canterbury Village, Lake Orion, Saturday, June 16, 2012. The show is open to Corvettes of all years, stock, modified or custom. We are expecting up to 150 Corvettes to be entered and judged. An additional 50+ club member cars will be on display, although not included in the judged event. Registration begins at 8:00 am. with an Awards Ceremony at 3:00 pm. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in fifteen classifications.

General admission to Canterbury Village is free. Participant registration is $25/car in advance or $30/car day of show. There will be a Silent Auction with a wide selection of items for everyone and proceeds from this Show and the Silent Auction will benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind. Leader Dogs has been the designated charity of the Club for many years; we have donated well over $121,000 to Leader Dogs over that time.

This year the show will also feature the North Oakland Dixieland Jazz Band for a free concert during the show. The GMC Corvette Set has actively sponsored car shows for over 20 years. Our motto is "We joined because of the car. We stay because of the people." Membership in the club is open to all persons with an interest in Corvettes and monthly member meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Leader Dogs for the Blind facility in Rochester. The main facilities were built with olde world craftsmanship with rich, luxurious quality and ornate furnishings. Materials used throughout the village include oak paneling and carvings from France, European armor, tapestries and an antique stained glass window from Scotland. The antique fireplace in the King's Court Castle was shipped from England and creates an olde world ambiance.One and all are invited to visit Canterbury Village for Michigan's only all Corvette show held in such a beautiful setting. Bring the kids and come spend the day with us and take in some of the area's most memorable Corvettes, the unique shopping opportunities, and the free Jazz concert.
