Popular Auto Service and Repair Video Segmented into Eight Car Care Clips

BETHESDA, MD--July 27, 2012: The non-profit Car Care Council has created a web video series by segmenting its award-winning consumer video, "Auto Service and Repair: What to Expect," into eight short Car Care Clips that will be posted to the council's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter feed every two weeks at 9:30 a.m. EST, starting Tuesday, July 31. The videos will be promoted on the social media channels with the hashtag #CarCareClips.

"The Car Care Clips will focus on taking the guesswork out of auto service by giving consumers a behind-the-scenes look at the repair shop experience," said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. "The first four episodes, airing this summer, provide tips and advice to help car owners become more comfortable with the process of finding and building a relationship with an auto service and repair shop. The goal of the new Car Care Clips is to calm the anxiety that many consumers feel when taking their vehicles to an auto repair shop, so they don't postpone necessary maintenance and repairs."

The first four episodes will be shared on the council's YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter feed as follows:

  • July 31 -- Finding the Right Repair Shop
  • August 14 -- Do I Have to Return to the Dealership?
  • August 28 -- What to Expect at the Repair shop
  • September 11-- How to Communicate and Ask Questions

The schedule for four additional Car Care Clips will be announced this fall. These episodes will lay out the realistic expectations of working with a repair shop and highlight the actual repair process.
