TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – Nov 29, 2012: The Honda Odyssey has been awarded ‘Best People Mover’ in the 2012 Drive Car of the Year Awards for the fourth year in a row.

The luxuriously appointed, family-friendly seven-seater Odyssey has again outclassed its competitors.

National Editor for Drive, Mr. Toby Hagon said; “The Odyssey continues to stand out with its flexible and functional interior. Its car-like driving dynamics and impressive seven-seat value make it a viable choice for bigger families.”

Honda Australia’s Director and General Manager Sales and Marketing, Mr. Stephen Collins said the award was validation of the Odyssey’s sporty styling, practical features and great driving dynamics.

“Honda is delighted that the Odyssey is Drive Car of the Year Best People Mover for the fourth consecutive year. It’s a car we are very proud of and to receive this award is an honour.

“The Odyssey represents Honda’s commitment to providing our customers with class-leading cars that are great value for money. We’re conscious that the judging expectations in this competition are very high which makes a fourth straight win for the Odyssey even sweeter,” Mr. Collins said.

Each vehicle in Drive’s Car of the Year awards is judged according to five criteria: under the bonnet, how it drives, price, quality and equipment, comfort and practicality and safety.

Priced from $37,100 for the Odyssey and $44,920 for the Odyssey Luxury, it’s the practical option for the modern family and the sexiest people-mover on the road.

The Odyssey features, as standard, multi-function touch screen satellite navigation, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, dusk-sensing auto headlights, retractable third row seats, ECON button with Honda’s unique Eco Assist coaching function, steering-wheel mounted paddle shift and 16 inch alloy wheels.

The Luxury model gains 17 inch alloy wheels, aero bumpers and side skirts, HID headlights with washers, tri-zone climate control and smokey-clear LED rear tail lights.

Technology is a key feature of the Odyssey, featuring USB connectivity with iPod integration, Bluetooth phone with audio streaming function, live traffic updates, rear camera and DVD player (operates when the vehicle is stationary only), steering wheel-mounted controls and six speakers.

Over the years, the Honda Odyssey has been the recipient of other industry awards, including Australia’s Best Cars ‘Best People Mover’ and Wheels Magazine’s Car of the Year.
