Michelin issues voluntary recall for some of its light truck replacement tires

LAVAL, QC--July 15, 2013: Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. announced today a voluntary safety recall of approximately 3644 tires that could have partial or full sidewall perforations that could cause them to experience loss of air pressure.

The recall involves certain sizes of the MICHELIN® LTX M/S2, MICHELIN X Radial LT2tires and MICHELIN® Latitude Tour sold in Canada. The tires are typically found on light trucks and SUVs.

No deaths, injuries or accidents have been reported in connection with these recalled tires.

The company said it regrets the inconvenience to its customers and dealers. Owners of the affected tires (listed below) should visit an authorized Michelin retail location as soon as possible to have their tires replaced at no charge.

Michelin said it has identified and fixed the issue that prompted the recall.

The tires being recalled are contained within the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) date ranges that appear on the tire sidewalls. The date range is represented by the four digit number to the far right in the sequence, with the first two digits denoting the week, and the last two digits representing the year.
