American Traffic Solutions Video Reminds Drivers to Stop on Red

TEMPE, AZ--Aug. 7, 2013: National Stop on Red Week has an important message for drivers everywhere. Don't run red lights. Each year in the United States, hundreds of people are killed and thousands more are injured in traffic crashes involving a driver who illegally runs a red light. About half of these victims are innocent people who entered the intersection on the green light, only to have their lives changed forever by a moment of lawlessness. These tragedies occur at crossroads in small towns and big cities, leaving all of us at risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports red-light runners killed more than 700 people and injured 118,000 more in 2011.
