ARLINGTON, VA--November 5, 2013: The Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) CarTech Demo Days is a nationwide campaign encouraging consumers to visit their local auto retailers this weekend (November 9-11, 2013) to learn about the latest technology products for the car. CEA’s Demo Days seeks to educate consumers about the latest in car technology products and encourage them to experience the latest technologies firsthand with a mobile electronics certified professional (MECP) installer at their local auto retailer.

“These new products are truly something consumers need to see to learn how easy it is to make driving a safe, fun and more enjoyable experience.”

Demo Days will focus on products that deliver better safety, security, sound and connectivity in the car. Consumers will learn how easy it is to integrate products that deliver enhanced audio sound, hands-free calling, smartphone connectivity and much more.

“Millions of Americans will take to the roads later this month to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday. CEA’s CarTech Demo Days are a great way for consumers to check out the latest technologies for any car,” said Samantha Nevels, CEA spokeswoman. “These new products are truly something consumers need to see to learn how easy it is to make driving a safe, fun and more enjoyable experience.”

New research from CEA’s Assessing Consumer Use, Awareness and Interest of In-Vehicle Technologies study found that 39 percent of U.S. online adults cite a safe way to make phone calls, read or send text messages while driving is their biggest challenge. Safety is paramount in a moving vehicle and a driver's highest priority must be maintaining safe control of their vehicle at all times. Innovation is the key to safety for all drivers. The Innovating Safety Campaign, in conjunction with CarTech Demo Days, connects drivers with information about and access to the wide range of readily available solutions that help combat distracted driving, including mobile applications, GPS management tools and motion-sensor technologies.
