"We're extending an invitation to anyone on the island participating in the Concour to take part in our Luxury Lifestyle Ballroom Reception," said Mike Flynn, Festivals of Speed Auction promoter. "This will be a great event celebrating European exotics, American classics and other one-off vehicles, as well as the opportunity to network with other enthusiasts."

On Saturday, March 8, the Festivals of Speed Motorsports Display will be held on the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort's ninth fairway, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Omni Ballrooms will open at 10 a.m. for a preview of all auction vehicles. The Amelia Island Select Motorcars & More Auction takes place inside the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Ballrooms from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This year's auction includes some of the best in collectable and historic race cars, including a rare 1954 Watson Roadster, the first roadster every built by AJ Watson, a joint venture with Jud Philips for Bob Estes. The 1954 Watson comes to the Festivals of Speed auction from the Mike Guffey Indianapolis 500 Collection.

"We're getting so many cars that we've had to move the auction time up," said Flynn. "We are anticipating approximately 125 vehicles, including several Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings, Packards, Bentleys, Jaguars, Porsches and a 1928 Rolls Royce custom coachworks powered by a 27 liter Rolls Royce aircraft engine."

Another rare find going across the auction block: the one-and-only "Fonzie's motorcycle," used on the popular TV show, "Happy Days." The 1949 Triumph Trophy TR5 Scrambler Custom comes from the Leda Page Collection.

Two other notable motorcycles include a 1934 Brough Superior 1150, complete with a rare 1938 Grand Alpine Sport Petrol Tube Side Car Cruise Body and a 1938 Brough Superior SS-100. Early estimates show that each of these extremely rare and unusual motorcycles could bring over a quarter million dollars.

"There will be a shuttle service that goes everywhere on the island, from the Ritz-Carlton to the Omni and everywhere between," said Flynn. "Small 24-passenger white busses will circle the island to make it convenient for those attending any event on the island to also attend the Festivals of Speed."
