MONTVALE, NJ--May 5, 2014: Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today announced its ranking as one of the "Best Places to Work in New Jersey" according to NJBIZ magazine, New Jersey's primary business journal covering the state. Placing at No. 4 in the large companies category, this represents MBUSA's fourth time to appear on the list and its highest ranking to date. The award program identifies, recognizes and honors the top places of employment in New Jersey that benefit the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

"Our people are our most important asset and I'm delighted with a top spot on NJBIZ's list," said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. "We're four months into another record sales year at MBUSA, and that wouldn't be possible without the dedicated team of employees at our headquarters in Montvale and regional offices in Parsippany and Robbinsville. Their passion for the product and laser focus on delighting our customers is central to our business, and a great workplace culture is paramount to continued success."

Introduced in 2005, the "Best Places to Work in New Jersey" program is made up of 100 companies split into two groups: 62 small/medium-sized companies (15-249 employees) and 38 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). To qualify, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Have at least 15 employees in New Jersey; Be a for-profit, not-for-profit or government entity; Be a publicly or privately held business; Have a facility in New Jersey.

Organizations from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 "Best Places to Work in New Jersey." Part one consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This phase was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. Part two consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This phase was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking was announced during an awards ceremony on May 1.

The overall registration and survey process was managed by Best Companies Group (BCG). BCG analyzed the data provided and used their expertise to determine the final rankings. The program is sponsored by Gibbons P.C. and MetLife Solutions Group and works in partnership with Garden State Council SHRM and Employers Association of New Jersey.
