Isuzu captures unique 360-degree FanPic image at Grand Final

Isuzu the official pick-up partner of the 2014 Super League XIX season

MANCHESTER -- October 13, 2014: Spectators at Saturday’s epic Super League Grand Final between St Helens and Wigan Warriors at Old Trafford, Manchester, took part in one of sport’s largest ever 360-degree pictures.

Isuzu UK captured the FanPic, a unique piece of sporting heritage, 10 minutes into the first half of the match. St Helens went on to beat 12 man Wigan Warriors by 14-6 to become the 2014 First Utility Super League Champions.

The image went live on Sunday (12 October) via Facebook, and Isuzu UK is encouraging the fans in attendance to tag themselves in the picture: Isuzu Fan Oic. Over 3000 fans had already participated by Monday morning (October 13).

Isuzu UK has also created a ‘Where’s Wally?’ type competition where fans can search for hidden Isuzu parts within the FanPic to be in with a chance of winning special prizes, including an all-expenses paid trip to Super League’s Magic Weekend 2015 at St James Park, Newcastle.

Haydn Davies, Isuzu UK’s Group Marketing Director, commented: “We wanted to find a way to celebrate the final match of the season in true Isuzu style, and an interactive 360-degree photo is the perfect way to capture the unique atmosphere of the final. The photo has already had great support, with more than 3000 fans tagging themselves and sharing amongst friends and family. It’s incredible to think that we squeezed 70,000 people into one photo!”

Once fans have tagged themselves they will be able to share the image with friends and family via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Isuzu UK is the official pick-up partner of the 2014 Rugby Super League XIX, as well as the sponsor of Sky Sports’ coverage of the season. The Grand Final is traditionally the last match of the Super League season, with 14 teams involved in the championship altogether.
