BASF Vehicle Unveilings; Showcase New Color and Productivity Tools at 2014 SEMA

Company to host appearances and vehicles from designers Foose, Friedlinghaus, Launier and Trepanier

SOUTHFIELD, MI -- Oct. 29, 2014: BASF Automotive Refinish, a leader in the collision repair and commercial and specialty vehicle coatings market, has announced its official schedule of events for the upcoming 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, held Nov. 4 - Nov. 7 in Las Vegas.

BASF will showcase restyled vehicles, host designer autograph sessions and present the latest in car color technology at booth #21455. Events kick off on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. with a press conference at the BASF booth where the Chip Foose-restyled 1960 Ford Starliner and a restyled 2015 Toyota Sienna from Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs will both be unveiled. The Starliner features a Metallic Grey paint from BASF's GlasuritŪ 90-Line and the Sienna is painted in a custom Fiji Blue from BASF's R-MŪ Onyx HD line.

"BASF is proud to have both Chip and Ryan, two of the industry's top car designers, unveiling their creations in our booth. SEMA is a great place for our current and prospective customers to talk to BASF experts about how our innovative solutions can help improve their shop performance," said Paul Whittleston, Vice President, Automotive Refinish & Industrial Coatings Solutions North America.

Foose will also sign autographs at the BASF booth from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on both Tuesday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 6. Attendees can also meet designer Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs when he signs autographs at the booth from 11 a.m. to noon on both Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Friday, Nov. 7.

In addition, BASF will host restyled vehicles at its booth, including the 2014 Ridler Award winning Buick Riviera, Rivsion, from JF Launier of JF Kustoms. Rivsion was painted in BASF R-MŪ Onyx HD Riverian Sunset Pearl. The car voted America's Most Beautiful Roadster earlier this year, the 1935 Chevy Phaeton restyled by Troy Trepanier of Rad Rides by Troy, owned by Wes Rydell and painted with GlasuritŪ 90-Line in black and maroon will also be on display at the booth.

Throughout the show, experts from BASF will be on hand to discuss the latest in car color technology – including the new SmartCOLOR™ online tool– as well as business improvement programs and the best color matching tools in the industry.
