Nation's Auto Industry Drives To Capitol Hill For Made Across America Celebration

WASHINGTON -- Jan. 22, 2015: Reps. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) welcome a historic gathering of vehicles Jan. 21 to Capitol Hill at the culmination of "Made Across America." Kicking off the Washington DC Auto Show, vehicles from nearly every automotive-final-assembly plant drove to Capitol Hill from factories across the country, company headquarters and dealerships. Dingell and Jordan were joined by Auto Show Chairman Kevin Reilly, Auto Alliance CEO Mitch Bain Bainwol and Global Automakers CEO John Bozzella.

Some 70 vehicles from 13 states represented the comeback of the auto industry from its 2009 crash to full health and vigor, as well made a statement to policy makers that more auto industry jobs paying solid middle-class wages will help drive the economy to higher heights. Represented at the Made Across America Day rally were Acura, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen, all of which build vehicles in the U.S.
