WHAT:

Toyota’s TeenDrive365 Distracted Driving Simulator with Oculus Rift will be in NYC at the New York Auto Show (April 1 – 12). Oculus Rift provides the most realistic virtual-reality experience available, and this is the first time the technology is being used to educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.

The simulator is installed in an actual Toyota vehicle so that users are immersed in a 360 degree virtual reality that shows how everyday behaviors can affect their ability to drive safely. To view video samples, visit HERE.

WHY: April is Distracted Driving Month. The simulator is a powerful tool to teach drivers about distractions: nearly 80% of drivers who have tried it say they would reduce distractions because of the experience.

WHEN: Press Days: Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2 General Public Days: Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 12

WHO: Toyota executives will be available for interviews on press days, upon request.
