WASHINGTON, DC -- April 13, 2015: Consumer Electronics Association (CEA):

WHAT:

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced that the 11th annual Digital Patriots Dinner will feature demonstrations of the newest and most innovative technologies coming to market in the fields of automotive, drones and 3D printing. This premier event celebrates government and industry leaders that support innovation in consumer technology. At the dinner, CEA will release its inaugural Innovation Scorecard, a report that evaluates and ranks states’ innovation friendliness. The Digital Patriots Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

Featured demonstrations at the Digital Patriots Dinner include:

-- Audi – A modern classic, redesigned and reborn: The third generation of the iconic Audi TT with driving dynamics distinguishes itself as a genuine sports car. It also delivers technology innovations centered around its digital cockpit that set new standards of excellence.

-- MakerBot – The award-winning MakerBot® Replicator® Desktop 3D Printer – one of the most versatile 3D printers with Wi-Fi, USB and Ethernet connectivity – offers a full-color LCD display, an on-board camera for monitoring printing tasks, compatibility with MakerBot Mobile for true remote printing and monitoring.

-- Parrot – Fitted with a 14 mega-pixel camera with fisheye lens, the Parrot Bebop Drone produces videos in Full HD 1080p with a 180° mobile camera and boasts fully digital image stabilizing technology to film during flight. Using a GPS system, a Return Home function brings the Bebop drone easily back to its take-off point. Astoundingly stable without compromising the maneuverability, the Bebop Drone analyzes data from numerous sensors automatically producing a steady video.

-- Volkswagen – The 2015 e-Golf is Volkswagen’s first fully electric vehicle for the U.S. market and is part of Volkswagen’s Think Blue® holistic approach to sustainability and efficiency. The e-Golf achieves an EPA-estimated Miles per Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent of 126 city, 105 highway, and 116 combined. This makes the e-Golf the most fuel-efficient compact car in the U.S. according to the 2015 Most Fuel Efficient Cars by EPA Size Class list.

The Digital Patriots Dinner will recognize Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Steve Case, chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC, with awards for their achievements in championing innovation in consumer technology and their support of a legal and regulatory framework that allows the industry to flourish.

In conjunction with the Digital Patriots Dinner, CES on the Hill returns to the nation’s capital on Wednesday, April 15. This event produced by CEA provides policymakers the opportunity to interact with the innovators and products revolutionizing the way we live, work and play and features the latest innovations coming to market such as 3D printing, 4K Ultra HD, robotics, health and fitness tracking, virtual reality, safe driving technology and more.
