RICKMANSWORTH, UK -- May 21, 2015: The market leading Nissan Qashqai has been honoured at the Honest John Awards 2015 – reaffirming its position as the nation’s favourite crossover.

The serial award-winning British-built model was named Most Popular Crossover by the motoring website at a ceremony at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire last night.

The awards recognise the models most searched for by the two million people who visit honestjohn.co.uk each month for motoring news and reviews. They therefore give a true reflection of the models that appeal most to British motorists.

Presenting the award, Dan Harrison, Editor of honestjohn.co.uk, said: “The Qashqai is the UK’s first crossover, but Nissan has not rested on its laurels, with its latest model surpassing the original on every level, with sleeker looks, better engines and more interior space.

“In our opinion the Qashqai is one of the best crossovers money can buy and our readers clearly agree. Over the past 12 months our readers have viewed the Nissan Qashqai more than any other crossover.”

The Honest John Award is the latest in a string of industry accolades bestowed upon the Nissan Qashqai. Just this week it was named Best Crossover by leading publication Fleet World while earlier in the year it was named Best Small SUV by What Car? magazine.

In January, the Qashqai was also named safest small family car by independent testing organisation Euro NCAP thanks to its class-leading safety systems.

James Wright, Managing Director of Nissan Motor (GB), said: “Receiving an award like this, based on real search data and not on subjective opinions, is fantastic.

“It demonstrates clearly just how much the Qashqai appeals to motorists and the phenomenal levels of interest it generates.”

He added: “To be topping the search polls more than a year after its launch, shows just how far ahead of the competition it was and remains.”
