Hyundai Motor Finance and BoostUp Offer Congratulations (and Cash) to the Class of 2015

IRVINE, CA -- May 22, 2015:

Dear Class of 2015,

As you embark on a new chapter in your lives, and trade the classroom for the office, the quad for the water cooler, and lazy strolls to your noon class for rush-hour traffic, Hyundai Motor Finance (HMF) would like to use this occasion to offer you our heartfelt congratulations, as well as a little advice:

1. Never stop learning. You may have a degree now, and no longer need to attend classes, but make sure your education continues and your life will be so much richer for it. As your commencement speaker probably quoted a famous college basketball coach as saying, "It's what you learn after you know it all that counts."

2. Protect your credit. Chances are you're graduating with a dream and ambitious aspirations for your life. Nothing can squash a dream faster than too much debt and bad credit. Don't know your credit score? You probably should. (Psst: our customers get this info for free). If you thought your SAT score was important, this is the score to focus on now (GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, or GRE notwithstanding).

3. Save. And when you spend, spend wisely. Your savings are like a down payment on your dreams and, as the saying goes, pay yourself first. When you do spend, spend on the things that matter. For example, more than likely you will need a ride to help you get back and forth to your new job—rush hour traffic is so much worse by foot. And unlike most commencement speakers who offer you nothing but platitudes, we're actually willing to put our money where our mouth is by backing our advice with up to $900 in cash incentives toward a new Hyundai.

Here's how: Hyundai Motor America (HMA) has partnered with BoostUp to encourage recent graduates to save. When you open a savings account with BoostUp, set a savings goal, and set up deposits from your checking account, HMA will match up to $500 of your savings applicable toward the purchase or lease of a new Hyundai vehicle. Add that to the $400 recent college grad incentive we offer when you finance your new Hyundai with us, and that's a total of up to $900 you can apply toward a new ride.*

Did that noteworthy celebrity who spoke at your commencement ceremony offer the graduating class $900? Doubt it. We're good like that.

And with BoostUp, it will be easier to save the $500 you'll need to get the full match from Hyundai because, unlike a traditional savings account, BoostUp enables you to tap into the power of social media and invite friends and family to contribute directly to your account—a way to crowdfund your savings goals. And what better time to crowdfund your way toward the down payment on a new ride than after a key milestone like graduation when you've not only earned a degree, but perhaps a little gift (i.e. cash money) from those who care about you.

We don't want to weigh down our inspirational faux commencement speech with all the details, so for the full story, please visit us online at hmfusa.com/collegegrad.

4. And finally, our last bit of advice is: Do not take life advice from press releases. However, taking vehicle purchasing advice from one is totally okay. HMF press releases know a lot about purchasing a vehicle—they're practically professors on the subject.

And with that…congratulations, Class of 2015, and good wishes for successful careers and joyful lives.

*Our lawyers added this asterisk—you'll learn all about lawyers when you enter the working world. We don't want to say anything too derogatory about them since we need them to approve this release, but we'll say this: You know that person you sometimes hang out with who every time you're considering doing something fun says, "Oh, gees, I don't know…maybe we shouldn't do this." That person's going to become a lawyer. Anyway, here's what our lawyers wanted to add:
