Lexus Expands Relationship with INRIX to Include Weather and Fuel Services

MUNICH -- Oct. 1, 2015: Lexus has extended its relationship with INRIX to equip its luxury cars with INRIX Weather and INRIX Fuel. The move will give Lexus drivers access to up-to-the-minute weather alerts and the ability to search for the lowest fuel prices nearby. These real-time services will be embedded into the navigation head units of new Lexus vehicles, starting with the all-new Lexus RX, which will be launched in Europe at the end of 2015.

INRIX Weather gives drivers a 5-day forecast for destinations across Europe. INRIX Fuel allows subscribers to search for nearby fuel stations and view dynamic pricing to find the best deals. The service provides location and real-time pricing information for more than 170,000 fuel stations (92 percent of the total market) in 21 European countries. INRIX Fuel is continually monitored and information regularly updated as new fuelling locations come online.

These new features are in addition to INRIX Traffic and INRIX Off-Street Parking already available in Lexus vehicles, which alert drivers in real-time to traffic congestion and road incidents as well as navigate them to the nearest off-street parking. All INRIX-powered services are available to Lexus drivers for free in Europe upon registration of the Lexus Customer Portal.

Robert Tickner, General Manager Product and Marketing Management at Lexus Europe, comments: "For a premium brand like Lexus, the ability to continually improve the driving experience for our customers is of paramount importance. INRIX allows us to deliver real-time data that makes lives easier for drivers from finding parking, foreseeing road conditions to finding the nearest and most cost-effective fuel station. It's about transforming the driving experience to give customers advanced technology that will save them time, money and effort every day."

Andreas Hecht, Executive Vice President, Automotive at INRIX, said: "The extension of our partnership with Lexus is testament to the strength of the innovative and dynamic breakthroughs in technology we provide to most of the world's premium car brands. As our first weather customer in Europe, we're thrilled to be part of the journey in next generation connected car services that will continue to enhance the experience for Lexus drivers across Europe."
