AUBURN HILLS, MI -- January 15, 2016: "FCA US LLC embraces this initiative and, through our ongoing engagement with NHTSA, we are already moving in the direction outlined in the agreed-upon principles.

FCA US has more than doubled the complement of professionals assigned to its vehicle-safety organization. Among the organization’s primary activities is a substantial investment in the use of predictive analytics as a tool to more quickly identify potential safety issues. For the greatest public benefit, we will share our advancements with NHTSA.

Further, we have a plan to roll out and test a variety of initiatives aimed at our dealers and customers. These initiatives are designed to boost recall completion rates and accelerate recall execution. To this end, we are developing best practices and refining our procedures – in collaboration with NHTSA – to improve replacement-part procurement and distribution.

In addition, FCA US remains committed to the continued development and democratization of safety technologies that help mitigate the impact of driver error – the root cause of most crashes.

FCA US will continue to engage in a collaborative industry approach which leverages the strength and knowledge of all participants to promote these principles."
