Annual Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K/10K Benefiting Pediatric Cancer Research Returns To Fountain Valley On August 28

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA - August 8, 2016: To kick off National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Hyundai Hope On Wheels® will hold its 6th annual 5K/10K Run/Walk to raise funds for pediatric cancer research at the Hyundai Cancer Institute at CHOC Children's this August. The Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K/10K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, August 28 at 7:00 a.m. at the Fountain Valley Sports Park located in Miles Square Park.

Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are invited to participate by either registering for the race or making a donation here. The registration price for adults participating is $35 for the 5K and $60 for the 10K. Registration for kids aged 6-10 participating is $20, and kids under 5 walk free. On-site registration for the 5K will be available for $40. All participants of the 5K will receive a race shirt and bib, a commemorative medal and professional timing. Awards will be given to the top finishers. A Family Fun Festival, including food, vendor booths and giveaways, will immediately follow the race. The event will also feature Hope On Wheels' signature Handprint Ceremony and check presentation with doctors, patients and families from CHOC Children's. A full schedule of events can be found here.

The Hyundai Hope on Wheels 5K and 10K courses have been certified by USATF.

Every 36 minutes a child is diagnosed with pediatric cancer in the U.S. Sadly, 1 in 5 children diagnosed with the disease will not survive. The races will honor the start of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. This year, Hyundai Hope on Wheels will be awarding $13 million in grants for pediatric cancer research, bringing its total funding of pediatric cancer research to more than $115 million to date.
